This site and service ("Musician's Best Friend") is operated by Musician's Best Friend ("we", "us"). We act as the data controller for personal data described in this notice. You can reach us via the in-app feedback form.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, sign-in provider.
- User content: audio recordings, sheet music uploads, transcriptions, mixes, and library entries you create.
- Usage data: credit balance and transactions, feature interactions, device/browser type, IP address.
- Support messages: any feedback or correspondence you send us.
- Order data: handled by Paddle (see Sharing below). We receive a transaction identifier and the credit package you purchased; we do not receive or store full payment card details.
3. Purposes and legal basis
- Provide the service, store your library, and process AI transcription (performance of a contract).
- Operate, secure, and improve the service, including fraud prevention (legitimate interests).
- Respond to support and feedback requests (legitimate interests / contract).
- Comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
4. Sharing
We share personal data with the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers / subprocessors for hosting, database, authentication, and AI inference used to power transcription and analysis.
- Paddle.com Market Limited as Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle handles checkout, payment processing, tax compliance, billing, invoicing, and refunds, and may collect data directly from you at checkout under its own privacy notice.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law.
5. Retention
We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us via in-app feedback. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging, to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, and loss.
8. Cookies
